Did anyone notice that Realtor.com now has a Find Home Values link on the sidebar of the main page. Naturally, I did a little comparison to see how close Zillow.com and Realtor.com were…ouch!!! Bad idea!!! Here are the VERY inconsistent results:
Zillow Realtor.com $$ Difference % Difference
Property #1 $568,000 $687,000 $119,000 17%
Property #2 $454,500 $504,201 $49,701 11%
Property #3 $2,314,500 $1,655,060 $659,440 28.5%
All 3 of these searches were part of a Yorba Linda Real Estate comparison between Realtor.com and Zillow.com. I am very familiar with values in all 3 of these neighborhoods and Zillow.com is much closer to true values than Realtor.com. Ya think it needs a little tweaking?
